However, cinder-volume happily starts a backend\nwhose name (or backend_host) yields a host containing such characters,\nso the scheduler advertises pools that can never be targeted by manage\nor migrate; the failure only surfaces later as an HTTP 400 at\nrequest-validation time.\n\nValidate the composed service host at startup in _launch_service using\nthe same character set as the API.  A backend with an invalid host is\nnow logged and skipped, and cinder-volume exits if no valid backend\nremains.
