I\u0027m doing this in devstack and it works pretty well.\n\nThe problem comes in the way that some clients and servers create HTTP clients and how they handle cafile. there is often code like this:\n\ncafile \u003d kwargs.get(\u0027cafile\u0027, None)\n\nThen cafile is passed into requests. cafile \u003d\u003d None tell requests to use no CA certificate for validation, basically dooming the request to failure. I\u0027m working on moving towards this instead:\n\ncafile \u003d kwargs.get(\u0027cafile\u0027, requests.certs.where())\n\nThis relies on requests returning the distro-specific CA bundle (the where() method actually recommends changing it per distribution). The upstream version has to return something, so it returns its own copy of a bundle, which of course lacks our devstack CA. python-glanceclient is the first to use this.\n\nSo you\u0027ll see various SSL connection failures during a devstack install.
