Since install-packages is typically used as a platform-agnostic way to install packages, I think that\u0027s a problem.\n\nSince it\u0027s not unreasonable to want to have apt or yum-specific CLI opts, I see two ways to address this:\n\n1) Make both scripts support the same options and log a warning if someone passes an option that the install-packages flavor doesn\u0027t support.\n\n2) Document that certain options are specific to one install-packages or the other.\n\nI think I prefer 1 because 2 doesn\u0027t help you if you try to use an element that targets the other install-packages.  Your install-packages will just fail with an unknown option and you\u0027d have to look at the other install-packages to figure out why.\n\nIf everyone agrees that this is the way to go, I don\u0027t want to pollute this change by pulling in the extra yum opt.
