I think probably pulling in the kernel via @core here is maybe a bit against the philosophy -- but honestly most of that seems like it will be pulled in on even a minimal system.\n\nFor yum-minimal I\u0027m sure there\u0027s already stuff that pulls in coreutils over the single-binary version, so that\u0027s precedent.\n\nOne question might be -- what is passwd being used for?  Is there another element that would more logically bring it in as a dependency (devuser maybe?)\n\nBy \"minimal\" we have traditionally not really meant \"the smallest possible image for a microservice\" (I mean, this was written when the Docker whale was just a goldfish :) but just not having too many optional things (cloud-init is a good example, not everyone uses it).  But basic utils I think fit the model, so I think things like this are OK.","commit_id":"01def0fb1a33756ecdd673706bbb97fdc21a8201"}]}
