Using "remote" is ambiguous, because the edge glances are remote from the central glance, and the central glance is remote from the edge glances. At line 15, you make the distinction between the "central cloud" and "multiple geographically-distributed edge clouds". I suggest using that "central" vs. "edge" language everywhere in this document so that it's clear what we're talking about.
Correct, no changes are required to Central Glance ... it is a normal glance ... see line 61; i'll try to make that more clear.

Agree, will use central and edge whenever referring to a glance instance.
I'm confused now. The requirement to be tolerant to connection loss with the central cloud is related to the distributed control plane scenario where there is a full control plane at the edge cloud.

When disconnected from the central cloud, the edge cloud glance in the distributed control plane scenario will be able to support GETs on its cached image and image meta-data.

This general requirement for tolerance to connection loss to the central cloud has been explicitly discussed in the edge-computing group and is why we have included both the distributed and central scenarios in the MVP. We have identified Use Cases where this is required ... e.g. Distributed Cloud solutions where the edge clouds provide compute power for complex hospital equipment such as MRIs. The Distributed Cloud solution is being used to provide centralized management of the various edge cloud deployments across a geographically disperse hospital campus. Loss of connectivity to the Central Cloud can not prevent the edge cloud -based hospital equipment from being able to start new applications, scale applications or recover failed applications.
the image is not required at that edge cloud. I would hope that this work would yield a job (either new, or modification of an existing one) that runs an edge glance against a real one and ensures the behaviors you expect to work actually do. Is that planned?

Also, this arrangement should totally work in a situation where you have an edge glance pointed at another edge glance, which in turn points at the real one. It'd be nice to validate that such an arrangement works, and doesn't regress as we move from the initial implementation to one that works for more cases.
