In Puppet OpenStack, we have the option to select if whether or not you want to deploy the API in WSGI (with Apache) and our gate test it by default when possible.\n\nI think Deployment tools should provide such scenarios or at least support the options to make it happen when projects have the support. Please look at the artifacts in Puppet OpenStack to see what we plan, and maybe see if there is something your group wants to do.","commit_id":"82f6181191140831f7adb05051d4a6b6cdbadfae"},{"author":{"_account_id":2799,"name":"Andy McCrae","email":"andy.mccrae@googlemail.com","username":"andrew-mccrae"},"change_message_id":"4d7c3ffb1fc98c9b5b05140354e6aa2c6addf514","unresolved":false,"context_lines":[{"line_number":338,"context_line":""},{"line_number":339,"context_line":"* https://blueprints.launchpad.net/openstack-ansible/+spec/goal-deploy-api-in-wsgi"},{"line_number":340,"context_line":""},{"line_number":341,"context_line":"NB Dependent on upstream projects achieving deploy-api-in-wsgi goal."},{"line_number":342,"context_line":""},{"line_number":343,"context_line":"Completion Artifacts:"},{"line_number":344,"context_line":""}],"source_content_type":"text/x-rst","patch_set":2,"id":"9ff52f3f_ff46c04f","line":341,"in_reply_to":"9ff52f3f_53270466","updated":"2017-04-13 16:56:32.000000000","message":"Hey Emilien,\n\nDo you mean that we should be able to implement the feature on roles before it\u0027s ready in those specific upstream projects?\n\nIdeally we want to remove the option/scenario to not use wsgi - once wsgi is supported it would be the best path and we think we can simplify our deployment procedures by ensure it is always used (and ensure the upgrade path works)\n\nThe key here is to create a pattern of \"how to do it\" and then copy that pattern across each role. We have tested scenarios for keystone that use apache/nginx mod_wsgi/uwsgi - but I think that adds a layer of complexity that isn\u0027t needed when we could just provide the mechanism to use one, and if you want to use something else you could plug in yourself.\n\nNot sure if that answers your query? Let me know if I can clarify in the blueprint/goal here - happy to change/discuss further!","commit_id":"82f6181191140831f7adb05051d4a6b6cdbadfae"},{"author":{"_account_id":3153,"name":"Emilien Macchi","email":"emilien@redhat.com","username":"emilienm"},"change_message_id":"158dbbacf596282d93323b110214465cfa2900e3","unresolved":false,"context_lines":[{"line_number":338,"context_line":""},{"line_number":339,"context_line":"* https://blueprints.launchpad.net/openstack-ansible/+spec/goal-deploy-api-in-wsgi"},{"line_number":340,"context_line":""},{"line_number":341,"context_line":"NB Dependent on upstream projects achieving deploy-api-in-wsgi goal."},{"line_number":342,"context_line":""},{"line_number":343,"context_line":"Completion Artifacts:"},{"line_number":344,"context_line":""}],"source_content_type":"text/x-rst","patch_set":2,"id":"9ff52f3f_3b51dbd9","line":341,"in_reply_to":"9ff52f3f_ff46c04f","updated":"2017-04-13 17:09:13.000000000","message":"I mean:\n\nIf Service X can be deployed in WSGI, and Service can be deployed with OSA, OSA would be able to deploy it in WSGI.\n\nThat\u0027s all.\n\nExample: if you used to deploy Cinder API in eventlet, you should engage some work to support WSGI deployments.","commit_id":"82f6181191140831f7adb05051d4a6b6cdbadfae"}]}
