You\u0027ve correctly noted that defining the area is easy in the sense that our community is good at collaborative decisions. However, defining the area is actually hard in the sense that making the decision relies on knowledge of what kinds of names the area will offer up and on feeling comfortable enough to bet that at least one of those names will be okay in terms of marketing/trademark. This can cause slowdowns in the process, throwaway work, favoritism. Maybe not always but why risk it. If we just switch to the geographic area being defined by an objective formula then we remove the risk. If it turns out that there are good names outside the formula-derived area then they can always be added by exception.","commit_id":"d82ad9f9dc1b22fae6efbc73f2a2b69c156f83b4"}]}
