You have pushed so much change and progress and we have grown as a community under your leadership.

That said, I feel like a change in leadership might be a good idea. We have an endemic of burnout in the community and too short a bench for people to step up into leadership roles. I think handing over the reigns to help someone else grow and share the load is really what we should be encouraging, not just amongst the TC, but also in PTLs. Having a group of skilled leadership folk to pass the role around to would go a long way to preventing the burnout that we see all too often.

Plus changing leadership is good once in a while :) It's literally one of our principles: https://governance.openstack.org/tc/reference/principles.html#changes-in-leadership-are-good. While I wasn't as vocal as I should have been about my stepping down, I did, after serving for I honestly can't remember how many terms now.. 2 years? 3 maybe? I want to make space for new folks to join the Technical committee and encourage new people to take up new roles for the health of our community and the project we all pour so much of ourselves into. If this is your feedback privately to gmann that's cool, but I think it's probably best to encourage people to volunteer for thankless positions like this, especially in the current climate we have where volunteers are hard to come by. I think it's clear that gmann running again doesn't prevent anyone else from being considered, as we already have another person nominating themselves for the position. I think your comment here kinda casts an unfair shadow on the pending vote in a way that anonymous voting is intended to prevent.

I think gmann does an amazing job as chair, an amazing amount of work as a result, and I think the TC is lucky he hasn't ragequit yet.
