That is:\n- we of course tweak Nova policy to allow cold migration by users. They don\u0027t have the rights to select a destination host.\n- we advise our users that we want to put a compute node in maintenance.\n- We give our users a delay, so that they can do the cold migration by themselves (usually, non-live-migrable instance only like with PCI-passthrough instances). They can do that on the CLI, but we\u0027d love if Horizon was allowing it too.\n- if users didn\u0027t do the cold-migrate by themselves at the end of the delay, an admin will do it for them.\n\nThis considerably enhances our admin life to do this way, but so far, Horizon has been a blocker to implement it.
