Currently the only thing they are the same is the package management tool(yum/dnf/rpm). Others, such as supported package version/list, linux kernel version/feature, are all different. The yum/dnf/rpm package system will be replaced in the future as well.

It's now the most widely used Linux OS in China. Among openEuler users, many of them require cloud infrastruture support and most of them are using OpenStack and Kubernetes on openEuler. So keeping OpenStack working on openEuler is a requirement as well. For kolla-ansible, it'll be great if it can be tested on openEuler, so we added the CI before. I'm the OpenStack SIG maintainer in openEuler community, and will keep maintaining the openEuler CI in OpenStack community.

As the CI result shown in the Patch, now there are two problem in kolla-ansible openEuler CI:
1. TIMEOUT problem: it's related by two case, the first is about MariaDB setup problem and it looks that has been fixed recently. The second is about the network speed for `yum install`, I'm now working on fixing it in OpenStack Infra. The solotion is to use Infra mirror[1], fix the mirror bug and let it work.

2. The incoming Patch[2] that bump ansible version doesn't work on openEuler. I'll take a look farther and fix it ASAP

[1]: https://mirror.dfw.rax.opendev.org/openeuler/
[2]: https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla-ansible/+/881018
Update: https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/diskimage-builder/+/881295 This can fix the network speed problem.
5c840e4bd4537bdb7857bbebaf8eca377b424e2d"}]}
