I\u0027m trying to point out an anti-use-case. For example, marking the lowest traffic network interface as a preferred export location would be useless is most cases, as that\u0027s something that\u0027s likely to change over time, and Manila only samples the information at share creation time. I could make this more clear by using more specific language.\n\nRegarding ensure_share, it\u0027s been pointed out that we might be have a design that doesn\u0027t scale. It was originally implemented based on a misunderstanding of Cinder\u0027s implementation of ensure_export. In cinder, only attached volume\u0027s are ensured.
