Usability is fine: even \"show vlan\" displays the VLAN description instead of the VLAN name. To be honest, I haven\u0027t found a single place in the CLI where VLAN names are used or displayed. And having empty VLAN names seems to work just fine.\n\nAllowing names to be truncated could indeed be a more general solution. But for this specific case, it would require the administrator to first be aware of the issue, and then configure \"ngs_network_name_format\" as well as this hypothetical new \"max length\" setting.\n\nThe patch being discussed is much simpler and solves the problem for OS9 devices without needing any specific setting.","commit_id":"dc306332c0ea9658ff0181237d88e44a06ec63fa"}]}
