Meaning, they're not things the user asked for, they're attributes of the network, which is what the user (may have) asked for.

Because of that, I don't think these should be in this object, which will also, I think, obviate the need to access this object from all the places you currently want to access it.

The instance.info_cache.network_info object already contains everything we've learned from neutron about the actual networks and ports the instance is going to have. It's where we stash stuff we need to mirror from neutron like this, which we will need for later, and I think it's the right place to put this. When we build the initial network_info cache of stuff from neutron, we just need to gather the physnet and tunneled bits at that time, and then they will be available later to anything that has the instance.

Now, the problem is, I think the first time we do that is in compute manager when we do allocate_for_instance(). I assume that's too late because the scheduler needs this stuff, and the scheduler doesn't get to see info_cache anyway.

So, I think you might need to put some extra stuff into RequestSpec to communicate this, but I don't think it should be in NetworkRequest. Doing that will let you get this info to the scheduler, and stashing things in info_cache when we go to build it will avoid the need to store this stuff with the instance separately.
"nova/objects/request_spec.py":
            #
