Have we audited those? Or is that intended to be a followup activity?

No I haven't audited all the callers and wasn't really planning on doing that. The callers should be handling failures already, and if you look at https://review.openstack.org/#/c/607934/ and what call points needed to be changed, lots of them are logging something already. There are other cases that they aren't, and maybe don't need to.

Earlier in the review Dan suggested just handling NotFound for the not-log case:

https://review.openstack.org/#/c/619110/1/nova/context.py@a443

Which we can do, but that might also become a whack-a-mole issue over time. If people want to be more conservative and risk tracing exceptions in the logs for expected scenarios, and then add to the list over time, we can do that too. This is just very generic code and it doesn't seem right to me for this code to assume that any exception is grounds for tracing when this method doesn't have context on what's going on.
939a61d1c6054f24b6d47b5a6f1fa90fadc0c690"}],"nova/tests/unit/test_context.py":
This was always False, but didn't do anything.
