That did not end up working out though bc the devstack-tempest ancestor job that some jobs inherit from eventually sets IMAGE_URLS and it overrides the project.vars I set. When tempest creates images it needs to use the kernel and ramdisk image IDs when it creates the AMI image. In the scenario manager, tempest has a method that creates a fresh image from the default image file, but if that image file is a UEC image tarball, it can\u0027t handle that presently.
