number of virtio-net queues equal to the\nnumber of guest vCPUs, which can result in an excessive number of\nqueues for instances with large vCPU counts. This is particularly\nproblematic in OVS-DPDK based environments, where too many queues\nincrease CPU overhead and reduce dataplane efficiency.\n\nThe existing max_queues option in nova.conf is configured per compute\nnode and applies uniformly to all instances on that node. This makes\nit difficult for operators to tune virtio-net multiqueue behavior\nbased on individual instance sizing or workload characteristics.\n\nThis change introduces support for limiting the maximum number of\nvirtio-net queues using flavor extra specs or image metadata when\nmultiqueue is enabled.
