So, yes and no. You\u0027re right that it doesn\u0027t have to be a new amphora. New listeners on the current amphorae should pick up the changes (after octavia is restarted or sighuped). But the new settings, I don\u0027t think, will automatically be propagated to existed listeners. The user has to run some sort of command that will update the listener to trigger the update flow. I\u0027ll update the release note. I\u0027m not sure off the top of my head if oslo exposes a hook that could update the listeners when the option changes, but I\u0027ll take a look.","commit_id":"7b96bd3e70fb3967a3862e583e6d2f888f1d4a37"},{"author":{"_account_id":29244,"name":"Gregory Thiemonge","email":"gthiemon@redhat.com","username":"gthiemonge"},"change_message_id":"2dd727a9ed0e8711280f8496e28632a87dc08fcf","unresolved":true,"context_lines":[{"line_number":1,"context_line":"---"},{"line_number":2,"context_line":"features:"},{"line_number":3,"context_line":" - |"},{"line_number":4,"context_line":" Added a ``haproxy_bufsize`` option in the ``[haproxy_amphora]``"},{"line_number":5,"context_line":" section of ``octavia.conf``, which configures the request/response"}],"source_content_type":"text/x-yaml","patch_set":2,"id":"13d4a607_0c17b156","line":2,"range":{"start_line":2,"start_character":0,"end_line":2,"end_character":8},"updated":"2026-10-15 06:31:11.000000000","message":"if we plan to backport it, it\u0027s better to replace the features section by a fixes section","commit_id":"5c739cb86e8ea4280bb463ce7560f17bb64d8e99"},{"author":{"_account_id":38562,"name":"Richard Cruise","email":"rcruise@redhat.com","username":"rcruise"},"change_message_id":"11f982ed1a9fecebb2291516449ffe65a3507f4d","unresolved":true,"context_lines":[{"line_number":10,"context_line":" default buffer size."},{"line_number":11,"context_line":" Once changed, this option will take effect for new listeners,"},{"line_number":12,"context_line":" and existing listeners will be updated the next time an api"},{"line_number":13,"context_line":" call that updates the loadbalancer is made."}],"source_content_type":"text/x-yaml","patch_set":2,"id":"f4f91415_464d5b8d","line":13,"updated":"2026-10-15 13:42:40.000000000","message":"According to various AIs, increasing the buffer size and keeping the maxconn setting the same will increase memory usage.
