The log guidelines were the contributing factor to creating openstack-specs at all, as it was a 12 month process to get agreement here, and there were objections to this being in nova-specs repo.\n\nIt was called a guideline to soften this, but it was definitely more like the current specs. Might seem all kinds of obvious now, but it wasn\u0027t at the time.\n\nI guess I\u0027m not entirely convinced that using this process for guidelines is worth it. It seems like really heavy weight process for things which really have a well defined set of best practices that we are weighing in on that should just be in a manual somewhere.\n\nThe point of a specs repos initially is for things where it\u0027s not clear, there isn\u0027t a clear concensus, and the idea now has enough detail that it can be debated/discussed like a code review to get it to an implementation state.
