We do not usually backport changes to add platform support scope. 2026.2 officially supports only Python \u003c 3.14 (though many libraries supported 3.14) as python platform, and Ubuntu 24.04 and Debian 13 as operating system, for example.\n\nThe change is limited so we may eventually accept this backport, but I\u0027d like to understand the target of this backport.","commit_id":"f41035d2123af67f470b05f2648da40270a520f4"},{"author":{"_account_id":7102,"name":"Thomas Bechtold","email":"thomas.bechtold@chainguard.dev","username":"toabctl"},"change_message_id":"cf8930414457cb2abd37e59ee3df9182a2ee2b49","unresolved":false,"context_lines":[],"source_content_type":"","patch_set":1,"id":"a2bd5e5e_60198bf4","in_reply_to":"56ed0b52_d4a6eba1","updated":"2026-10-06 09:11:07.000000000","message":"Thanks for asking. Our Python 3.13 was patched with the upstream CPython OpenSSL 4 support (gh-146207), which drops PROTOCOL_TLSv1*, and that\u0027s where we hit this. We\u0027ve since adjusted our Python to keep those constants around as aliases of PROTOCOL_TLS, so we no longer need these backports. Plain upstream 3.13 can\u0027t even build the ssl module against OpenSSL 4, so I don\u0027t expect others to need it either.\n\nI\u0027ll abandon the backports.","commit_id":"f41035d2123af67f470b05f2648da40270a520f4"}]}
