The goal of such tests is full integration end-user testing.\n\nExample of the test case for this repository:\n1) Boot 2 VMs in different local networks and assign floating IPs to these VMs.\n2) Login to OpenStack controller node and restart Neutron L3 agents services (two l3 agents for each network for HA deployments).\n3) Check that we can send the traffic between two VMs and make sure that connectivity between VMs will be recovered in 10 seconds (it is an example, of course).\n\nSo we can\u0027t do this with Tempest because of step #2, we can\u0027t do this with Rally because we need to create hundreds of such scenarios for different components and it should work in a predictable manner (like a regression suite and not a random restart of agents during the load in the cluster)\n\nWe also will add some test scenarios which are based on the customer-found OpenStack bugs which can\u0027t be easily reproduced (when you need to load 100Gb file as an image for Glance with Swift backend, for example). Such tests are important for pre-production environments (because real users saw the issues with this scenario before) but probably not so important for CI gates, of course.\n\nIt is also important to note that such cases sometimes can\u0027t be executed on DevStack because we don\u0027t have an ability to deploy the real HA OpenStack environment with DevStack.
