We can organise things in many different ways; we can create a project-config for pipeline configuration in the gnocchi OpenDev tenant, or upstream could create one and give people developing on Zuul access.  We can keep job config/playbooks/roles in the github gnocchi repository or separate repos. That way there is no burden on you to care/worry about it unless you want to, but the ultimate responsibility for the project ends up in OpenStack\u0027s hands. We have some silly but powerful infra, some complex but useful tooling, and processes to follow that while being a pain sometimes, do help govern the massive ecosystem that is OpenStack.\n\nThat\u0027s not to say that the TC or the foundation aren\u0027t sometimes unbelievably annoying bureaucracies to deal with, but at least if I (or someone else) fails as PTL for Gnocchi, they can step in and hand the project over to other interested parties. Which has happened a few times and sometimes it has allowed projects to be saved.\n\nSo while we can definitely work with you, Mehdi, and Gordan to rekindle the project on Github, that doesn\u0027t really make sense unless you do want to still take part in its future, or drive it. It is probably going to be on life support until we make the switch/migration and fully deprecate the Gnocchi integrations. But again, given we\u0027d be the only people using it, it still does make sense to have OS people maintaining it.\n\nIf we do decide to stay with Gnocchi long term, then OpenDev is definitely the place for it given OpenStack is the only consumer, and that it was built to fit within OpenStack originally.\n\nI actually don\u0027t know what we\u0027d do. MongoDB is a huge NOPE, because that was a nightmare, but given InfluxDB enterprise is needed for clustering, that kinda looks like a bad option. TimescaleDB maybe works since it\u0027s based on PostgreSQL, but tuned for timeseries, although clent support looks like raw PostgreSQL. WhisperDB (graphite) isn\u0027t suited for our needs, nor is Prometheus really. We may well find that Gnocchi is actually still the best option for OpenStack despite not wanting to maintain a TSDB.\n\nI\u0027m parking this patch for now with a -1 workflow, but...
