So I think putting the UUID and name before ID is more reasonable and will reduce the unnecessary calls.\n\nThe wrong instances. If an instance A has a interger like name (like \u00275\u0027), and there do exists an instance B with ID \u003d 5, \u0027nova show 5\u0027 will retrive B instead of A. But nova client users are not aware of the ID thing. They only know names and UUIDs. That why they may name an instance with an interger, and retrive the wrong instance when trying to supply the interger name in the command line.\n\nSo the benefit of this change is two fold. First by UUID, then by name, finally by the ID.
