It was brought to our attention how the process of tagging fro skyline-console is being executed atm with manual patches which are building compressed static content (ie https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/skyline-console/+/945065).\n\nSuch approach is a bit problematic in terms that posses a risk as such patch contains quite obfuscated code which is impossible to review. Eventually, this reminds of a way how infamously known xz backdoor [1] was introduced, where only tarballs were compromised, not the code itself.\n\nWhile I don\u0027t think there is smth really wrong with the release, I think we need to try to work on a better way for releasing skyline-console, which will avoid necessity of building/publishing compressed artifacts by human beings.\n\n[1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XZ_Utils_backdoor","commit_id":"450ffedc87507a0a2ad4fcc8db706cd078e3ac54"},{"author":{"_account_id":28619,"name":"Dmitriy Rabotyagov","email":"noonedeadpunk@gmail.com","username":"noonedeadpunk"},"change_message_id":"9069f1400e02d7264a6cbb7b423b76f6cea89de1","unresolved":false,"context_lines":[],"source_content_type":"","patch_set":3,"id":"5436ad81_94fdaa1a","updated":"2025-03-26 11:28:07.000000000","message":"FWIW, I somehow failed to build skyline-console with yarn on ubuntu noble.
