swiftfs version you can use mkdir and rmdir. For example, If there are objects on a path than rmdir will fail.

There are applications that would like to mount swift as a drive and this enables that. It was originally created because of applications treating filesystem like things as filesystems. It came out of actual use when we ran into needing it.

This more removes the swiftfs functionality rather than moving it over to the swift stream wrapper.
Patch Set 1:

I see where you're coming from, but I don't think it's a step back in functionality. It seems (and correct me if I'm wrong) that the swiftfs protocol doesn't actually *do* anything for rmdir and mkdir - it currently just fakes the operation.

These two functions that now sit in swift:// do the exact same thing as they did before in swifts:// - but now they're just in a more coherent location with all the other filesystem functions.

I'm totally for these functions doing something but I was hesitant to introduce functionality because:

1. We need to talk about how rmdir and mkdir will work first. Will they just create/delete containers? Or will they work on full paths and deal with pseudo-directories? etc.

2. The scope of this patch was to merge two files together (two files that we're not convinced need to be separate). Adding in functionality, however helpful, is outside this patch's scope.

What's your take on this?
Patch Set 1: Workflow-1

An example of something that was in the FS version that's won't work after this change is rmdir used to return false if there were objects named with the path prefix. The first is our main class which does the majority of the
heavy lifting, whilst the second doesn't really offer us much
functionality in terms of an SDK. Although it attempts to reconcile the
operational differences between a filesystem and Swift, we can actually
achieve the same thing in 1 class.

Note: this patch does not attempt to implement the functionality of
`mkdir' and `rmdir' - it just merges two files into one. Since this
functionality didn't exist prior to this patch, it is not a step
backwards. Another patch can implement this functionality.

Since we do not have two stream wrappers any more, we do not need a
shared test case. Logic can be added to the main stream wrapper test.

Change-Id: I2364c9414d4114f4271009054e9542f6a4880e20
